These 5 second motion video otomacroscopy ( MVOM) samples resent a view of a 58 year old male right tympanic membrane during tympanometry. The patulous pars flaccida was ejected at the outset of recording from a prior tympanometric trial. The GS 33 Middle Ear Analyzer was set to run from +400 daPa though -600 in the 600/200 daPa/s mode. MVOM and tympanograms were video-captured 15 f/s seriatim. The time lines between video are tympanometry are only roughly coincident. The negative slope of the tympanogram corresponds to the period of rapid pars flaccida ejection. It is possible to open to open simultaneous MS MEDIA PLAYERs and run both tympanogram and TM views concurrently. The Windows 98 MEDIA PLAYER defaults to a single player. To activate a new player with each .avi file, 1) Click on the tympanogram thumbnail image; 2)This opens MS MEDIA PLAYER; 3) Click on view / options / player / "open new player...". 4) Click on the TM image and bring the other MEDIA player up from the task bar. 5) Move both MEDIA PLAYERs together to appreciate the tympanogram/TM dynamic relationship. Pseudo-synchronization of the MVOs is chance, at best. Remember to close the Media Players when finished. You may wish to restore Media Player to its default (single player) status. |
